Feature Film: The Rockville Slayer (2003)
Status: complete; domestic and foreign distribution on DVD
Director: Marc Selz
My Role: Jessica Mathers (supporting)
Also Starring: Joe Estevez, Linnea Quigley, Robert Z'Dar, Nicole Buehrer
Links: Official Website (news, photos); IMDb listing
Synopsis: A small town police officer discovers murders in a hot spot where high school couples go to fool around. One of the victims turns out to be the brother of the police officer. Just a few miles down the road is Clearbrook Mental Sanitarium, where a patient has just escaped. The murders unravel hidden family secrets. With the help of a driven female detective, the truth will be revealed. There are twists and turns that lead to a suspenseful and shocking ending. Are you really who you think you are? There is only one way to know for sure. The Rockville Slayer will lead you to the truth.
Remembrances: This was my first significant and professional acting job. I was instantly drawn to the role and I fought for it, and won. I just felt like I understood Jessica, the escaped mental patient. I had very few lines, but a lot of scenes, and very intense ones, at that. It was filmed in rural Illinois under the title Unaware. I had a great time on set. It wasn't a big budget movie; it was an independent movie where everyone was there because they loved making films. My scenes were shot in the woods (I was in a hospital gown and barefoot) and outside a police station in the street (this was the middle of the night and it was cooold!). It was a wonderful experience for me and I am very thankful that I got the role. The Rockville Slayer already has domestic and foreign distribution.

Feature Film: Dawn of Twilight (2003-2004)
Status: complete; on video and DVD
Director: Cyrus Martin
My Role: Dawn (lead)
Also Starring: Rex Manaster, Mike Harper, Bryan Kail
Links: Customflix (purchase, trailer); IMDb listing
Synopsis: He is known as Twilight. A professional assassin, his past haunts him deeply. He seeks an end to his career, but he has been given one last hit. Her name is Dawn. Twilight is given 24 hours to find her and kill her, but he is not alone. There is someone else after her as well. But this woman is more than just another mark, more than he could ever suspect...and time is running out. The secrets she holds make her a target...but will she even remember them?
Remembrances: Filming this movie was a long journey. I played the protagonist, the amnesiac Dawn. It was one of my first leading roles. It took about eight months to film this movie. My first shoot was in August 2003 and my final shoot was in March 2004. It's very common for this to happen in independent films when they only shoot on the weekends. This did take a long time, but I enjoyed it. We shot at various locations around North Texas. I worked with some great actors on this film. The director was a first-time director, but he proved to be talented. The shoots ranged from hot to cold, as so much time went by during filming.

Feature Film: Mute (2003)
Status: post-production
Director: Kim Turner
My Role: Kayla (lead)
Also Starring: Steve Perkins, Melanie Fairlight, Jeremy Schwab, Jaimie Johnson
Link: Official Website (news, photos, trailer)
Synopsis: Kayla is haunted by dreams of Timmy, a young man she and her friends teased as children so much that he tried to kill himself. Now as adults, those friends (Jack, Brad, Marshall, Stacee, and Lori) find themselves being stalked by a silent figure clad all in black carrying a piano wire. Has Timmy returned, or is someone else behind these terrifying murders?
Remembrances: This film was shot over the course of a few months in Garland. I worked with some cool people and had a good time shooting. This was one of my first leading roles. The director and writer really liked me, which was nice to know.

Feature Film: Pot Zombies (2003)
Status: complete; domestic distribution on DVD
Director: Justin Powers
My Role: Cheerleader (featured)
Links: MySpace; IMDb listing
Synopsis: Radioactive weed turns people into zombies with the munchies for human flesh!
Remembrances: In this low-budget horror comedy I played a cheerleader who slips in blood during a zombie attack at school. She later relates the story to a news crew. Filming was quick and fun, other than the fact that I had to lie next to intestines. They were very smelly.

Feature Film: S.T.U.D.s, Duds, and Pick-Up Lines (2004)
Status: complete; film series screening
Director: Scott Murray
My Role: Delivery Woman (featured)
Also Starring: Jim Garrity
Link: IMDb listing
Synopsis: This movie is about a radio jock who has a trouble meeting women. He hires a professional to coach him through it, only to fall for her. Will she let him in?
Remembrances: I replaced a sick actress on hours' notice and really liked doing this role. The director and Jim were great to work with. This was a very short, yet funny, role.

Feature Film: Prison-A-Go-Go! (2002)
Status: complete; domestic distribution on DVD
Director: Barak Epstein
My Role: Inmate (extra)
Also Starring: Rhonda Shear, Mary Woronov, Lloyd Kaufman, Laurie Walton
Links: Official Website (news, photos, trailer, press); IMDb listing
Synopsis: When sweet Callista is abducted for "scientific" reasons, her brainy sister Janie must solve the mystery and attempt a rescue. But the only clue leads to a notorious prison in the Philippines, where committing a crime may be the only way in. And no one who’s entered has ever come out…because they’re all having such a wild time! A rowdy parody of the great women-in-prison films of the past, this film is filled with girls running amok, kung fu food fights, mutant zombies, evil scientists, and mad mud wrastlin'! This film is a great comedy. It has played at many film festivals and won Best of Dallas at the Deep Ellum Film Festival.
Remembrances: I was an extra on a rather chilly October day. Our costumes were skimpy and we were barefoot, so we were all very cold! We just ran around and away from the prison guards. In another scene, we were planting flowers.

Feature Film: The Blue Saloon (2002)
Status: post-production
Director: David Stovall
My Role: Traveler (extra)
Synopsis: All I know about this movie is the premise: an Italian man inherits a gay bar in Texas. It's a comedy!
Remembrances: I was an extra. The scene had the lead character coming out of an airport (Fort Worth Meachum Airport, to be precise). I was just in the background with my bag. This involved walking back and forth a lot. But on the same day I filmed this, I was also a Tromette for Lloyd Kaufmann! That was lots of fun. First was a bookstore appearance; the next day was a presentation at the University of North Texas. Lloyd's a great guy.

Miscellaneous Work

I performed in several murder mystery shows for Keith & Margo's Murder Mysteries from 2002-2003. We performed each show in a business or home, and we all enacted a murder crime during dinner. It involved lots of improv and ad-libbing. It was challenging but fun. We are in character, but at one of these I actually got recognized! It was kind-of tricky.

I have done voiceover work for several Japanese anime cartoons for FUNimation Productions from 2003-2005. I played various voices in Case Closed, Full Metal Alchemist, Kiddy Grade, Sakura Wars, and Yu-Yu Hakusho.

Mojo (2003) is a short comedy about a crush gone awry, directed by Tony Quinn. I was an extra in a bar scene in the background pretending to talk.

I was an extra in a 2004 Rent-A-Center commercial. It was the Spanish language version. I just walked around oohing and aahing over the furniture. It was a SAG contract!

In early 2005 I had a few industrials. First was actually a promo spot for the local ABC station. I walked around in circles in the background. In the TV spot the background is blurred out and slowed down so the effect is pretty cool. Then I was an extra in a video for RadioShack. I was actually bumped up to principal on the set. I played a woman to whom a salesperson is showing a phone. It was work, work is work! Next I was a principal in a video for Meritage Homes. This was a video showing various features of the model home. The video will be given to people who purchase a Meritage home.
