Short Film: Getting to Know You (2003)
Status: complete; film festival showing
Director: Kim Turner
My Role: Mouse (lead)
Also Starring: Shannon Laine, Jacqueline Effenson, Brian Bentley
Links: Official Website (news, photos, trailer); IMDb listing
Synopsis: When Jenna likes a guy, she turns into a jibbering idiot. Her friends, the naïve Angie and the foul-mouthed artist Mouse, decide to help her out. As Mouse never does anything small in scale, she concocts a plan to kidnap the object of Jenna’s desire so that Jenna can have a chance to express her feelings to a captive audience. Sometimes true love just needs a little helping hand...or a sock full of quarters.
Remembrances: I was very happy that I got this role, as I loved the character. I got this role after playing the lead in the same director and writer's film, Mute. It was a short shoot, and I worked with some great people. It was shot in Garland. We had a lot of fun.

Status: complete; film festival showings; online
Director: Eric Rhoades
My Role: Cybil (supporting)
Also Starring: Mike McFarland, Mike Wiebe, Laurie Walton, Mae Moreno
Links: Official Website (news, photos); IMDb listing; YouTube
Synopsis: This slice-of-life gag comedy takes place at a coffee shop graveyard shift, where the lives of the inhabitants (a lovestruck writer and his friends, a waitress, a group of gamers, and a pair of goth girls) collide.
Remembrances: I was in two long days of shooting at a nightclub in Deep Ellum. I played one of the Goth girls; she ends up going home with an overweight security guard. I met some nice people on set and enjoyed the experience.

Short Film: How to Dig Your Own Grave (2003)
Status: complete; on DVD
Director: Rachel Henderson
My Role: Alicia (lead)
Also Starring: Taylor Hart, Margie Sorrells, Drew Fisher
Link: Official Website (news, script, photos)
Synopsis: Alicia has a boyfriend David, whom she is madly in love with, and a best friend Sage. Sage is hopelessly in love with David, and Alicia accidentally ends up killing him. This sets off Sage and she convinces herself that she must bring David back from the dead in order to make things right, only to set off a horrible chain of events.
Remembrances: I played Alicia. This film was shot over the course of several months. It was a lot of fun to be working on a zombie film! Rachel Henderson, the film's director, is a very creative gal. I worked with some cool actors on this project and had a great time. It was very laid-back.

Short Film: Just Winnings (2003)
Status: post-production
Director: Jaime Livas
My Role: Jane Morgan (lead)
Also Starring: Rex Manaster
Synopsis: A working mother and a businessman are co-winners of a lottery jackpot. However, they are exes. Will they have a second chance?
Remembrances: This was a UNT student film. I played a single mother. I had my first screen kiss in this movie. The crew was really nice (the director treated me like I was a star!) and I enjoyed working with Rex Manaster, who would later become my co-star in Dawn of Twilight. This film's working title was Even Changes.

Synopsis: Two dog owners meet in a park and hit it off, except for the fact that his big dog eats her small dog.
Remembrances: This was a quick and fun shoot. I got the role on referral by Caffeine Headache director Eric Rhoades. This was my first time to work on screen with animals (a dog on a leash). We filmed it on a nice sunny day.

Short Film: Blood Party (2003)
Status: complete
Director: Donna May
My Role: Amy (lead)
Also Starring: Richard LeVon, Brian Beck, Lydia Miller
Synopsis: After leaving a party, a woman encounters a vampire.
Remembrances: This is a very short (one minute) film. I played a woman who comes upon a vampire with his victim, only to be victimized by the vampire herself. This was my first vampire bite on film! It was a quick and fun shoot.

Short Film: New Apartment (2003)
Status: complete
Director: Donna May
My Role: Amy (lead)
Also Starring: Lydia Miller, Sean McGraw
Synopsis: A couple viewing an apartment gets more than they bargained for.
Remembrances: This is also a one-minute film. I played a woman looking at an apartment, who discovers an unpleasant surprise inside. This was also a quick shoot in the director's apartment building in Dallas. I like these short films!

Short Film: You Can Have It! (2004)
Status: complete; online
Director: various
My Role: 1950s Housewife (featured)
Also Starring: Laurie Walton
Link: YouTube
Synopsis: This film, an entry in the 24-Hour Video Race, was shot in one day. It was a spoof instructional video of various (illegal) ways you can get large sums of money. There were several stories, each directed by a different person. Unfortunately, the film was not finished within the twenty-four hour time frame for the competition.
Remembrances: I played a period housewife who poisons her husband to get a large check from the insurance agency. The shoot was a little hectic, but still fun. I got to work again with director Rachel Henderson.

Short Film: Favorite Overcoat (2003)
Status: abandoned
Director: Joseph Jenkins
My Role: Krista (lead)
Also Starring: Bryan Chatlien
Synopsis: A seemingly loving couple is stressed by the man's drinking problem.
Remembrances: This was my first lead role in a film. Unfortunately, the project was never finished. The director decided not to put the film together. It was a nice shoot, though. I really enjoyed working with Bryan. The role involved lots of fighting and emotion.

TV Show: Dr. Deadly's Theatre of Horrors (2003-2004)
Status: multiple episodes complete
Director: Gaston Huckabay
My Role: Beryllia (supporting)
Also Starring: Boyd Mooney, Elfriede Russell, Teresa Griffith, Natalia Pollack
Link: Official Website
Synopsis: In his wicked Hibernaculum, Dr. Deadly, along with his assistant Nurse Septis and the three evil witch sisters (Beryllia, Cadmia, and Cerullea), furthers his malicious intents while introducing classic horror films to the unsuspecting public.
Remembrances: I played Beryllia. I was in three episodes: All in the Family, Possession is 9/10ths of the Law, and Satan Takes a Holiday. In the latter, I also appeared as the devil in a blue dress. We have months of rehearsals for this show as we film in a TV studio on limited time. It's a lot of work for a relatively small part. We also film on location as necessary. The set is really neat! But we're very hot in costume under all the lights. By the way, we do our own makeup!

TV Show: Diva Star (2002-2003)
Status: complete (two episodes)
Director: Diana Miernik
My Role: Aunt Bibi (supporting)
Also Starring: Diana Miernik, Dusty Lela, Sheryl McKim, Brandon West
Synopsis: Young Alula dreams of becoming an actress. As she gains success and fame, she loses her beloved guardian Aunt Bibi to leukemia and must rely on her own strength to persevere.
Remembrances: I played Alula's aunt. I am her caregiver, as she was orphaned at a young age. I start to get sick, and I eventually die of leukemia. This show was shot at various locations around Allen, including the high school and the director's home, and in Dallas at a children's hospital. Diana is a talented young lady. It was a long drive each time but worth it!

Synopsis: This Japanese TV show features reenactments of bizarre crimes. This episode is called The Mummy.
Remembrances: My part was shot at a huge haunted house with all sorts of curiosities inside. It was a long but fun day. The Japanese filmmakers were really nice people to work for.
